| VI3-DSA: VMware Infrastructure 3: Deploy, Secure and Analyse v3.5 |

Course Length: 4 days.
Overview This hands-on course provides students with the knowledge and skills to successfully deploy ESX Server hosts using scripted installation, configuration and use of VMware Consolidated Backup (VCB). Students will also be taught to use VMware Update Manager and security features. In addition, the course will give students the skills for management of ESX Server hosts using local CLI utilities. Furthermore, the course provides students with troubleshooting tips throughout.
At the completion of this course, students will be able to perform scripted installations and fault analysis on Virtual Infrastructure components. Students will also be able to learn specific commands used to administer an ESX server and configure Virtual Infrastructure security. In addition, students will be capable of monitoring Virtual Infrastructure. Furthermore, they will be skilled in configuring and implementing VMware High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), Consolidated Backup and Update Manager.
Audience This course is intended for System Administrators and System Integrators experienced with Virtual Infrastructure 3 who are also responsible for scaling their organisation's deployment of VMware technology.
Outline
Prerequisites Students must have achieved a pass score on a short on-line pre-test be comfortable with fundamental Linux commands and a Linux text editor. It is recommended that students complete VMware Infrastructure 3: Install and Configure or equivalent experience with VMware Infrastructure 3.
