In order to maintain your current CNE benefits and remain competitive in the marketplace, Novell encourages all current CNE's to upgrade to the NetWare 6 CNE certification. By upgrading, you will be certified to work with the latest Novell technologies & solutions. You will be confident that your knowledge is current and relevant. Why is there Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR)? Novell certifications provide the certified individual a way to distinguish themselves in the marketplace through their knowledge and skill set. Their employers and future employers use certification as a way to determine if they have the ability to perform certain on-the-job tasks and functions. As such, there is an expectation that individuals who hold these designations are current on the latest technological advances and challenges that face organizations that rely on their IT infrastructure. CNAs are not impacted; however, Master CNEs are affected. One of the requirements of being a Master CNE is the maintenance of a current CNE status.
