Overview This course provides students with the skills and knowledge to configure, manage, monitor and troubleshoot a Terminal Services (TS) environment. The course focuses on configuring TS core functionality, licensing, Gateway and Web Access. Information Services 7.0 Web Server in Windows Server 2008.
After completing this course, students will be able to install the TS role, applications on TS and TS Web Access role service. Students will be able to identify appropriate licensing scope and monitoring methods for the TS service role, as well as consider the types of applications that can be installed in a TS environment. Furthermore, students are able to configure TS licensing, TS connection properties, TS Web Access, TS session broker and TS Gateway properties. Finally, students will be skilled in managing the licensing lifestyle, the TS connections (to determine when to force a client disconnect) and monitor WSRM performance using the WSRM Monitoring TS tool.
Audience This course is intended for individuals whose primary role is a Technology Specialist in an enterprise environment. This course is also intended for individuals who are assuming a new role requiring skills to manage connections served by a terminal server session over the intranet, extranet and internet.

Prerequisites Before attending this course, students must have technical knowledge equivalent to course (6420) Foundational Series: Fundamentals of a Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure and Application Platform, or Windows Server 2003 Terminal Server experience in an enterprise environment. Students may attend the course if they have a minimum of one year's experience administering and supporting TS, Windows Server 2003 or certificate services.
