6422: Implementing and Managing Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V |

Course Length: 3 days.
Overview This course provides students with knowledge and skills to implement and manage Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V. Students undertaking this course will learn to manage Hyper-V with System Centre Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) and with PowerShell. Students will be able to create and manage Virtual Machines on the Hyper-V Server and understand Hyper-V Networking, Virtual Hard Drives and their benefits. Students will also be provided with an understanding of how to configure the Hyper-V Server to ensure high availability and monitor its performance. In addition, students will learn to use existing Virtual Machines and understand any issues relating to migrating existing Virtual Machines to Hyper-V. Finally students will become skilled in using PowerShell to manage the Hyper-V Server and the virtual machines hosted on the Hyper-V Server, and to then implement a disaster recovery plan for Virtual Machines on Hyper-V.
Audience This course is intended for Windows Server 2003/2008 System Administrators who manage and implement Server Virtualisation technologies within their network. This course is also suitable for Enterprise System Architects who plan Enterprise Server resources with an emphasis on server consolidation.

Prerequisites Before attending this course, students must have technical knowledge of Windows Server 2000 and Windows Server 2003 System Administration. Furthermore, students should also have knowledge of Server Virtualisation using Virtual Server 2005 or Virtual PC.
