6416B: Updating your Network Infrastructure and Active Directory Technology Skills to Windows Server 2008 |

Course Length: 5 days.
Overview This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to work with Network Infrastructure and Active Directory technologies in Windows Server 2008. Students will gain the skills to add, install and configure Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server Core roles. Students will also be able to explain the new backup infrastructure, identify new and improved networking features with Windows Server 2008 and configure Hyper-V virtual machines. Students will learn to install and configure Active Directory services and identify new features in, and implement Active Directory Directory Services (AD DS) auditing. Furthermore, students will become skilled in configuring Windows Server 2008 Failover Clustering and Network Load Balancing.
Audience This course is intended for IT professionals experienced in the technologies included in Windows Server 2000 and Windows Server 2003, and who hold either an MCSE or MCSA certification or equivalent knowledge.

Prerequisite Students must have on the job experience in planning, implementing, managing and securing Microsoft Windows Server 2000 or 2003, including Active Directory and Network Infrastructure server roles. Students must also have knowledge of networking such as TCP/IP and Domain Name Server (DNS). Experience in installing, configuring and administering Microsoft Windows Server 2000, Windows XP Professional or Microsoft Vista is also essential. Furthermore, students are required to have an MCSA or MCSE on Windows Server 2003.
