Course Length: 3 days.
Overview This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to upgrade their SQL Server 2000 database administration (DBA) skills to SQL Server 2008 DBA skills. Students will gain an understanding of SQL Server data types and how to manage and secure a SQL Server 2008 database. They will learn to plan for a SQL Server 2008 installation, upgrade and migration, and how to prepare for a recovery from potential database disasters. After completing this course, students will become skilled in maintaining availability of SQL Server data during server downtime, and configuring replications of SQL Server 2008 databases. Furthermore, they will understand how to implement policy-based management, monitor database activity and manage database performance.
Audience This course is intended for IT Professionals who are responsible for administering and maintaining SQL Server databases.
