Course Length: 3 days.
Overview This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to implement, use and manage a Reporting Services solution to create reports using the Reporting Services development, management and administrative tools. Students will also focus on creating and manipulating data sets and using report models to implement reporting for business users. Students will also learn to configure report publishing and execution settings as well as implementing subscriptions for reports. Finally, students will be able to administer reporting services and implement custom Reporting Services applications.
Audience This course is intended for IT Professionals and Developers who need to implement reporting solutions by using SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services.
Outline
Prerequisites Before attending this course, students must have exposure to creating reports in Microsoft Access or other third-party reporting products. Students should also have a conceptual understanding of the push and pull distribution/subscription concepts. It is also important that students undertaking this course have experience navigating the Windows Server environment and experience with Windows Server services (starting and stopping) as well as with creating service accounts and permissions. Students must also be experienced with Microsoft SQL Server including SQL Server Agent, SQL Server query language (Select, Update, Insert and Delete), SQL Server System tables and SQL Server Accounts (users and permissions). |
