Course Length: 5 days.
Overview This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to implement a SQL Server 2008 database. Students will focus on using SQL Server 2008 product features and tools related to maintaining the database. Students will learn to create databases, database files, data types and tables. Students will also be able to use XML-related features in SQL Server 2008 as well as plan, create and optimise indexes. Furthermore, students will be skilled in implementing data integrity in SQL Server 2008 databases using constraints and triggers. In addition, students will be skilled in implementing views, stored procedures, functions and managed code in the database. Finally, students will be capable of managing transactions and locks and using Service Broker to build a messaging-based solution.
Audience This course is intended for IT Professionals who administer and maintain SQL Server databases.
Outline
Prerequisites Before attending this course, students must have basic knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system and its core functionality. Students must also have working knowledge of Transact-SQL and relational databases. In addition, students must have experience with database design. |
