Course Length: 3 days.
Overview This course provides Business Intelligence (BI) professionals working in enterprise environments with the knowledge to design multidimensional solution architecture that supports their BI solution. Students will learn the entire process from deploying a multidimensional solution to production. In addition students will be taught to develop custom functionality and optimise a multidimensional solution. Furthermore the course will focus on the planning and design aspects of an analysis solution architecture.
After completing this course, students will be able to capture the requirements for an analysis solution. They will be taught to design a logical Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) solution architecture, physical storage for a multidimensional solution and also to design the infrastructure for an OLAP solution. Students will learn to create calculated members and name sets and be able to implement KPI's, actions, stored procedures and data mining solutions. Finally the course will allow students to be able to deploy, secure, monitor and optimise an Analysis Services solution.
Audience This course is intended for experienced BI Professionals with an understanding of the SQL Server 2005 tools to implement Analysis Services functionality, but whom need to develop a better understanding of design principles and best practices when planning, implementing and deploying an Analysis Services solution.
Outline
Prerequisites Students must have experience with database development tasks, data warehousing, data marts and BI. Students should also have an understanding of OLAP technologies, multidimensional data, MDX, SQL Server 2005 features, Windows security and Web-based architecture. Students should already know how to use Microsoft Office Visio, SQL and Performance Monitor. |
