Overview This course provides students with knowledge to implement a Reporting Services solution in their organisations. The course will enable participants to use the Reporting Services development tools to create reports. In addition, it will teach them to use Reporting Services management and administrative tools to manage a Reporting Services solution
Students are taught how to describe SQL Server Reporting Services and its components, as well as creating and enhancing a Reporting Services report. Students will also learn to create and manipulate data sets and use report models to implement reporting for business users. In addition, they will be able to configure report publishing and execution settings and administer reporting services. Finally, the course will enable students to implement subscriptions for reports and customer Reporting Services applications.
Audience This course is intended for IT Professionals and Developers wanting to implement reporting solutions by using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services.
Outline
Prerequisites Before attending this course, participants must have exposure to creating reports in Microsoft Access or other third-party reporting products, such as Crystal Reports. In addition, they must have a conceptual understanding of the push and pull distribution/subscription paradigm. Experience is needed in navigating the Microsoft Windows Server environment, Windows services and creating service accounts and permissions. Finally, participants must have experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL Server Agent, Server query language, Server System tables and Server accounts. |
