Overview This course provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to maintain a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 database. The course focuses on teaching individuals how to use SQL Server 2005 product features and tools.
This learning product covers a universal core skill of SQL Server such as installing and configuring SQL Server, creating and maintaining database backups, user accounts, permissions, tasks, and bulk data operations. These skills are used by a large population of IT Professionals which consists of developers, generalists, and administrators and are a core skill for anyone working with databases.
Audience Network and database administrators, consultants, support engineers, MCTS and MCITP candidates, responsible for being skilled on SQL Server 2005 features and technologies to maintain a database.

Prerequisites Before attending this course, students must have basic knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system and its core functionality. They should also have working knowledge of Transact-SQL and relational databases, and have some experience with database design. It is recommended, but not required, that students have completed Writing Queries Using Microsoft SQL Server Transact-SQL (2778), and Implementing a Microsoft SQL Server Database (2779).
