Course Length: 12 days. Part 1 - 5 days, Part 2 - 5 days and Part 3 - Revision 1 day plus two ½ day exams. Overview The course is aligned with the ITIL syllabus and is designed to provide students knowledge of Service Management as a practice, the Service Lifecycle and key principles of the Service Management. Students will also learn about generic concepts of ITIL and selected processes, roles and functions associated with ITIL. In addition, students will be taught about IT Service Management technology and architecture as well as the ITIL qualification scheme. Students will benefit from reinforcement of the course content through experiential learning by taking part in the Polestar simulation game. This is a team-based simulation conducted over three rounds with each participant playing a role in the business or in the delivery of IT services to the business. Mock examinations are an integral part of the course, allowing students to revise and test and improve their knowledge before taking the final examination. 90-days post-course support is provided to participants. Technology Prerequisites Students participating in this course must have a higher education level, or the equivalent through practical experience or self-study and at least two years of professional experience as a Manager or Consultant in IT Management. Students also need to have good written and oral language skills as well as good presentation, meeting and teamwork skills and empathy. Students must have also completed the Foundation certificate in IT Service Management, based on ITIL® v2 or v3.
